Laminated Magnets

Segmented magnets with inter-segment insulation and an overall epoxy coating, configured for motor designs that need to limit eddy-current paths.

Available shape familiesSegmentation follows the drawing.
Between magnet segmentsRequirements agreed for the motor design.
Overall coating optionSpecification follows the application.
Curved-end laminated magnets for motor magnetic circuits – NEOLUNE MAGNETS.

Segmented magnet structures

Shape and lamination direction are defined together.

Rectangular laminated magnets for motor magnetic circuits – NEOLUNE MAGNETS.

Laminated blocks

Block forms use segmented construction with insulation between the magnet pieces.

Coated stacks of laminated magnets for motor magnetic circuits – NEOLUNE MAGNETS.

Coated magnet stacks

Finished shape, stack orientation and coating are reviewed as part of the component design.

Required engineering inputs

Lamination details are specified for the motor, rather than selected from a universal thickness range.

Finished shapeProvide the arc, block or sector drawing and the finished assembly envelope.
LaminationSpecify segment thickness, segmentation direction and stack dimensions.
Insulation and bondingDefine insulation, bonding and acceptance requirements between segments.
CoatingState the required overall epoxy specification and environmental conditions.
Motor conditionsProvide operating temperature, speed and magnetic-circuit requirements for design review.

Final stack dimensions, insulation, coating and acceptance conditions follow the agreed drawing. Eddy-current and thermal behaviour depend on the complete motor design.

What to send us

  1. Finished component and stack drawings
  2. Lamination direction and thickness
  3. Insulation and bonding requirements
  4. Magnetic material and motor conditions
  5. Acceptance criteria and quantities

Define the stack

We review the segmented shape, insulation and coating requirements, including interfaces for integration into Halbach assemblies.

Insulation and assembly

Segment the magnet
Arc, block and sector forms can be divided into the segments defined in the drawing.
Insulate and bond
Inter-segment insulation interrupts eddy-current paths. Bonding and overall epoxy coating follow the component requirements.
Agree acceptance
Specify the finished dimensions, insulation requirements and inspection scope before the stack is approved for manufacture.

Prototype to production

Prototype
From 1 set
Sample schedule
Typically 5–8 working days for mature drawings; 7–15 working days for new design and tooling
Production MOQ
Confirmed by specification; production typically 15–30 working days, depending on quantity
Packaging
Magnetic shielding and protective packaging

Sample and production schedules depend on segmentation, insulation, tooling and quantity. Timing starts after drawing confirmation and receipt of sample payment.

For high-speed axial-flux and permanent-magnet motor designs; evaluate the stack against the complete magnetic and thermal design.
